Susan Lambert Hatem

Susan Lambert Hatem is a writer, director and producer originally from Decatur, GA now based in Pasadena, CA. She made her Off-Broadway debut in 2019 with Confidence (and The Speech), a Eugene O’Neill semi-finalist. Other plays include My Dinner With Andrea (Ashland New Play Festival, Henley Rose Playwright Competition Finalist) and Five Players in Search of a Win (Valdez Theatre Conference). Her company, 134 West, develops new works and diverse voices for theatre, film and TV including An Appalachian Twelfth Night, Homeward LA, O Baby Mine: Sing a Song of Shakespeare, Ty The Pie Guy and the critically acclaimed Bend in the Road: The Anne of Green Gables Musical. Susan is also a screenwriter and entertainment journalist (80s TV Ladies podcast, Boxoffice, Variety, Produced By). She is truly grateful to Amy Ray and Michelle Malone for their inspiring music, immense talents and generous spirts. And for being willing to take an extraordinary creative leap of faith with me. 

Amy Ray

Amy Ray is an American singer‑songwriter best known as one half of the Grammy‑winning folk‑rock duo Indigo Girls, which she co‑founded with Emily Saliers in the early 1980s. A prolific writer and performer, Ray has spent more than three decades shaping the sound of contemporary folk and Americana through her distinctive alto/tenor vocals, incisive lyricism, and genre‑spanning musicality. In addition to her work with Indigo Girls—whose catalog now spans nearly 20 albums—Ray has released multiple solo records exploring punk, folk‑rock, country, and Southern roots traditions. She is also the founder of Daemon Records, an independent label supporting emerging and community‑driven artists. Ray’s songwriting is marked by emotional clarity, melodic strength, and a deep commitment to social justice, themes that have defined her artistic voice throughout her career. Her contributions continue to influence generations of musicians and storytellers across mediums.

Michelle Malone

A mainstay of American roots music for 38 years, Michelle Malone has built an award-winning career as a songwriter, road warrior, and modern-day guitar hero. Her music is ingrained in the sounds of the south, mixing the rebellious stomp of roadhouse rock & roll with the raw grit of blues, the holy-rolling rasp of gospel, the slow-motion swagger of country-soul, and the organic warmth of folk music. Proudly based in Atlanta, Georgia, she’s always worn her influences on her sleeve — but her music is unmistakably her own – heartfelt, edgy and authentic.

Elisa Money

Elisa Money (they/she/he) is a noisemaker and storyteller from Vancouver, Canada. Favourite credits: Revenge Song (Oregon Shakespeare Festival), The Goree All-Girl String Band, Wakeman, Cowboy Bob (Village Theatre Festival of New Musicals), Miss Step (Village Theatre Beta Series), Come From Away, Lydia and the Troll, Shout Sister Shout (Seattle Rep). They have contributed to productions at The 5th Avenue Theatre, Theater Mu, The Arsht Center, ACT, 54 Below and others across the USA and Canada as music director, composer/lyricist, arranger/orchestrator, performer, and copyist. Amanda Wansa Morgan

Amanda Wansa Morgan is an Atlanta-based music director, arranger, & director who serves as Artistic Director, Coordinator of Musical Theatre, & Associate Professor at Kennesaw State University. Recent Atlanta credits include Waitress @ The Aurora Theater (director), Millions @ The Alliance Theater (Conductor), and A Year with Frog and Toad at Synchronicity (director & music director). She previously taught at The University of Mississippi. Author of Conversations with Women in Musical Theatre Leadership (Routledge, 2023). MFA, University of Central Florida. Christy Baggett

Honey B. Dews

Christy Baggett (Honey) is thrilled to be part of The Flirt Bar concert reading! She has been a working Atlanta actor and singer for the last three decades and remains grateful for every opportunity to share stories onstage. Memorable roles over the years include “Mother” in Ragtime, “Margaret Johnson” in The Light in the Piazza, “Donna” in Mamma Mia, and “Linoleum” in The Great American Trailer Park Musical. Offstage, Christy works as an Accounting and Finance recruiter and enjoys life with her husband, Chris, and their rescue dogs, Lucy and Roscoe. Big thanks to the creative team for including her in the development of this story of reinvention and connection. Enjoy!

Akayla Crawford

Alyssa

Originally from Ohio, Akayla recently relocated to Atlanta by way of Florida, continuing her journey as a performer and creative artist. Over the past year, she focused on dance training in both the commercial and theatrical worlds, expanding her versatility and expressive range. She most recently performed in Atlanta’s popular Club Muv Choreographer’s Showcase and the inaugural run of Nightshades Live at Six Flags Over Georgia’s Fright Fest. This concert reading marks her professional theater debut, and she is thrilled to bring her energy, versatility, and commitment to helping new musical work come to life.

Jason Davis

Jason Davis is a Birmingham, Alabama–based recording artist, songwriter, and actor fronting the Jason Davis Band. With roots in Southern rock, blues, and 90s-era alternative, his music blends gritty guitars with honest, hard-earned storytelling. A veteran performer on stage and on screen, Jason brings a cinematic edge to his live shows, channeling character, emotion, and raw intensity into every performance. Kia Jie Jacobs

Kia Jie is a former four-year engineering major now pursuing Theatre & Performance Studies at Kennesaw State University, concentrating in Musical Theatre. She began performing professionally at a young age, training under her family’s Atlanta-based theater company, F.A.A.M.E. Arts. Her professional theater credits include Madeline’s Christmas at Horizon Theatre and Broadway’s Theater of the Stars productions of Annie and The Wizard of Oz, under musical director Bill Newberry. Her screen work includes projects for Netflix, TBS, and Tyler Perry Studios. A former Division I and professional soccer player, Kia Jie brings discipline, focus, and a grounded approach to performance overall artistically.

Kamryn Jones

Kamryn Jones is an Atlanta native and 2024 graduate from Kennesaw State with a BA in Musical Theatre. In addition to performing, she is a theatre and voice instructor at Act I Academy. Her most recent performances have been several roles in the touring Murder Mystery Company Atlanta troupe, The Color Purple (Olivia), and Fire-fight-her (Trio). She wants to thank you all for coming, and is excited to see this show come to life!

Alyssa Olson

An IU Jacobs School of Music graduate, Alyssa has performed everything from opera to rock on stages ranging from Carnegie Hall to Chastain Amphitheater. Recent credits include Mae Tuck in Tuck Everlasting, Barbara Porter in Lifetime’s The Lies We Bury, and Nora in Lifetime’s A Beach Read Murder. She enjoys traveling, hiking, and believes life is better with ice cream. She is very grateful to be a part of The Flirt Bar’s journey. @alyssarolson

Storm is a singer/songwriter and frontwoman of the hard rock band Remember We Die. A musical theatre graduate of Kennesaw State University, she is excited to be part of The Flirt Bar. Storm and Remember We Die will release their debut EP, The Prequel, this January.

Jo Ann Pfeiffer

Guitar/Mandolin

Joann Pfeiffer (Guitar) is an Atlanta-based guitarist and educator with deep roots in theatre and live performance. Her recent theatrical credits include Christmas Canteen at Aurora Theatre (2022, 2023, 2024), Hedwig & The Angry Inch with Pinch ‘n’ Ouch Theatre (2021), and Hedwig & The Angry Inch at Actors Express (2023). In addition to her theatre work, Joann is an active performer across a wide range of musical styles. She has served as lead guitarist for Greyscale, Weatherproof, and the Exquisite Gender Band, and has performed with AFB Jazz Metrognomes Big Band and Seed & Feed Marching Abominables. Joann holds a BA in Music Performance from Edinboro University. She is a former co-owner and professor of Classical Guitar at Atlanta Institute of Music and an former instructor at Sutherlands House of Guitars.Special thanks to the cast and crew for their incredible talent and contributions.

Fuji Fujimoto

Bass

Fuji Fujimoto is an Atlanta musician, composer, arranger and orchestrator. She has played bass for several musicals including Sister Act, Waitress, The Wiz, Mean Girls, Shrek, Summer: The Donna Summer Musical and Christmas Canteen. Her lMDB film scoring credits are for the short films “Get Ready With Me” and “Tailor Embroidery” and for original music on the Spotify Podcast “You Heard Me Write S.1”. Fuji’s orchestral/action scene album, “In Pursuit” is available for sync music licensing at AtomicaMusic.com. Her jazz fusion album featuring solo bass, “Skyrise” is on all music platforms.

Jen Hodges

Percussion

Jen Hodges is a Berklee graduate with 30 years experience gigging, recording, touring, and writing.  She has played bass for The Alliance Theater, Tafia, Berhana, The Pinx, Jelly Roll, Slightly Stoopid, Brent Hinds, Grace Potter, Brandon Bush, The Strand Theater, The Lyric Theater, Blue Velvet, and My Hero Is Me.  She has played drums for Actor’s Express, Dirty Holly, The Pinx, Art Station, The Aurora Theater, Emory Theater, Horizon Theater, Outfront Theater, Roswell Performing Arts Center, and Gainesville Performing Arts Center.  She has been working at Notes For Notes for 14 years and her current title is Digital Education Manager.  She has recorded thousands of young artists.  Her young artists have gone on to be signed by Quality Control, Drummasquad, receive music scholarships, go on national tours, place in America’s Got Talent, and have been hired internally at Notes For Notes. 

Lee Bertram

Lee is a Theatre student at Kennesaw State University, with a concentration in Musical Theatre. Previously, he has directed Matilda Jr. (Chattahoochee High School) and is currently assistant directing She Loves Me (Kennesaw State University). Also an actor, they have been seen in roles such as Dance Teacher Pat (Dance Nation), Fester (The Addams Family) and Shrek (Shrek: The Musical). He is so excited to see this staged reading come to life, and grateful for the opportunity to work with such a talented team. Enjoy the show!

John Lumapas

John Lumapas is an ATL actor, musician and certified short king who is always incredibly grateful to work and develop new theatre! Recent acting credits include Sondheim on Sondheim: Symphonic Version (“Franklin Shepard Inc.”) and She Kills Monsters (Chuck). Anne Lambert

Producer (Charlotte’s Off-Broadway)

Anne Lambert is a Metrolina Theatre Association (MTA) award-winning actor, director, and producer who has been creating professional theater in Charlotte, NC since 1998. She is the Producing Artistic Director of Charlotte’s Off-Broadway and a founding member of the Visual and Performing Arts Center (VAPA), where she and her colleagues maintain a 56-seat black box theater and rehearsal studio. Anne’s recent producing credits include Meet & Greet, Everybody’s Got a Story to Tell, Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, and Thumbs, as well as standout performances as an actor in Hamilton Audition, The Humans, Shakespeare in Love, and August:Osage County. A co-founder of Chickspeare, Charlotte’s all-female Shakespeare company, Anne is a passionate advocate for the arts and for Charlotte’s independent theatre scene. Anne was MTA Theatre Person of the Year in 2024.

Katherine Nolan

Producer (Arts A La Carte)

Katherine Nolan is a writer and producer based in Los Angeles. As Co-Artistic Director of Arts A La Carte, she works with Susan Lambert Hatem to produce readings and workshops for new underserved artists. Katherine wrote the book for The Ride (A Musical) and the libretto for Hail Poetry: The Magic and Madness of Gilbert & Sullivan. She attended UC Berkeley and Bennington College before completing her degree in Creative Writing/Literature from UC Santa Cruz. She has an MFA in Film and Television Screenwriting from UCLA.


Development History

Charlotte’s Off Broadway produced an online reading of The Flirt Bar in May 2020. The reading was directed by Anne Lambert; the cast included: Joanna Gerdy, Harley Quinn, Iesha Nyree, Lane Morris, Brandon Barber, Veda Covington, Patrick Keenan, Johanna Jowett, Isaac Zerkle, Stephanie DiPaolo, Amy Ray and Michelle Malone.

Charlotte’s Off Broadway and 134 West produced a concert reading of The Flirt Bar in December 2022 in Charlotte, NC. The Music Director was Zach Tarlton of QC Concerts. The cast included: Lisa Schacher, Kel Wright, Jassi Bynum, Anne Lambert, Darren Spencer, Tasha Davis, Jason Hackner, Renee Welsh Noel, Maks Rex, Mary Beth Ritter, and Vivian Tong. Band members: Zack Tarlton, Kel Wright, Bobby Thomas, and Doug Rowe. The 2022 concert was supported by a grant from the Infusion Fund and its generous donors.

134 West and Arts A La Carte produced a song workshop in November 2025 in Los Angeles, CA. The cast included: Akira Sky, Julia Mae Abrams, Judy Mina Ballard, Kimberly Lewis, Jon Paul Burkhart, Oliver Rotunno. Music Director Gabrielle Maldonado.
